A French Mass in memory of Auguste “Nonco” Pelafigue will be held on Sunday, June 10, 2018, at 10:30 at St. John Francis Regis Church, 232 Main Street in Arnaudville, Louisiana. Bishop Douglas Deshotel, Bishop of the Diocese of Lafayette will be the celebrant. Father Travis Abadie, Pastor of St. John Francis Regis Church, will be the concelebrant. Deacon Kenneth Arnaud will assist.

Prayer cards will be distributed at the Memorial Mass. Immediately following the Mass will be a procession from the church to the reception in the Little Flower Auditorium, the same location where Nonco held his annual Sacred Heart Plays.

In 1953 at the age of 65, Nonco was nominated by Lafayette Diocese Bishop Jules Jeanmard and received the Papal Decree by Pope Pius XII referring to him as a “REAL CHRISTIAN.”

In 2012, thirty-five years after Nonco’s death, a non-profit corporation was formed. The Nonco Foundation works towards the beatification and canonization of Auguste “Nonco” Pelafigue.
