Why does the Church ask us to fast, pray, and give alms during Lent? What do Scripture, Tradition, and the Church’s teachings tell us about these practices? Are these practices truly good for us, and if so, how can we engage in them better?

Join the Young Adult Commission as we collectively try to answer these questions and to live out the Gospel during this solemn and penitential season. Each week, in a rotation, we will prayerfully study and contemplate one of the three Lenten practices. We will try first to understand the given practice, theologically and spiritually, and then we will learn ways to apply it more regularly in our lives.

We will consider fasting on 2/20 and 3/13, prayer on 2/27 and 3/20, and almsgiving on 3/6 and 3/27, but please note: there is no obligation to attend the first session on a particular practice in order to attend the second. Come whenever! In addition, neither Bibles nor RSVPs will be needed.

Please contact Daniel Orazio (danielorazio@gmail.com) or Ann Gennaro (anna.r.gennaro@gmail.com) with any questions. And please, join us.
