Imago Dei—Image of God: Initiative for Racial Reconciliation
Join us for a 5-part Lenten series devoted to racial reconciliation with expert presenters. Sundays at 11:00am from February 18 to March 18.
The Basilica of Saint Mary is dedicated to the eradication of racism and seeks to become a community of racial reconciliation.
Fr. Richard Cogill, an Anglican priest from South Africa, will share how theologians like Archbishop Desmond Tutu and Allan Boesak approached theology during his country’s struggle against apartheid, and how black theology in South Africa differs from theologies by African American theologians like James Cone in the United States. He will also show points of contrast between theological approaches developed in the West with approaches developed in Africa.
