Come on down to Adventure Brewing Company on Monday, January 15 to enjoy an evening with great folks and our February speaker is great, local fella, Mr. Michael Horne, PsyD! This discussion is titled, “Building Engaged Families”. And, as always, The UFO Truck will be slinging out tasty treats and of course, there will be plenty of great beer on tap throughout the evening!

He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from the Institute for the Psychological Sciences (IPS) in 2009, where he specialized in child therapy and wrote his doctoral dissertation on violent video games and their impact on the player. Prior to pursuing his doctorate, Dr. Horne worked in television at KVR9 in Austin, Texas and Houston PBS. Dr. Horne has experience working in several Catholic mental health clinics including Catholic Social Services in Lincoln, Nebraska and the Alpha Omega Clinic in Fairfax. Dr. Horne and his wife, Kara, live in Fredericksburg with their three children and are parishioners at St. Mary of the Immaculate Conception.

What is Theology on Tap, you ask? Theology on Tap is a speaker series that takes place in the fun, relaxed setting of a local pub. “TOT” focuses on topics of faith and contemporary issues that directly affect the lives of young adults (ages 21-39). TOT originated in the Archdiocese of Chicago and has spread throughout the country as a vital and popular component of young adult ministry. The goal is to provide a forum for young adults to learn about and discuss their faith in a relaxing social setting.
