Overview
On Saturday, March 17, 2018 men from across the diocese will gather at Saint Bede Catholic Church in Williamsburg for the 6th Annual Diocesan Catholic Men’s Conference. This year’s theme, “Truly Present,” will explore Jesus’ presence to us and our call to be present in all our relationships in the world as husband, father, brother, and friend.
This year will feature a dual-track conference with keynote speakers in English and Spanish, breakout opportunities, Reconciliation, Adoration, and Mass. Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers will be the keynote speaker for the English-speaking track.
Keynote Speaker (English)
Deacon Harold Burke-Sivers is a powerful and passionate evangelist and preacher, whose no-nonsense approach to living and proclaiming the Catholic faith is sure to challenge and inspire those who hear him. He co-hosts the weekly broadcast, “Living Stones,” on Mater Dei Radio, and has appeared on “Catholic Answers Live” and “Vocation Boom Radio.” In addition, he is the host or co-host of several popular series on EWTN television. Deacon Harold is featured on the award winning Chosen faith formation program by Ascension Press and the author of the best-selling book, Behold the Man: A Catholic Vision of Male Spirituality published by Ignatius Press, and co-author of the acclaimed new book, Ignite: Read the Bible Like Never Before. Deacon Harold is also featured on The Greatest Commandments: A 40-Week Spiritual Journey for Married Couples, a vibrant marriage-enrichment program rooted in biblical values and designed to help husbands and wives know God better, trust Him fully and love Him completely throughout the course of their married lives.
As the president and CEO of The Saint Joseph Center, Deacon Harold oversees that nonprofit organization’s endeavors, which include hosting an international institute for Catholic male spirituality, coordinating dynamic speaking tours and life-changing retreats, and developing products and services that support family life. Most importantly, he is married to his wife, Colleen, and they have four beautiful children. They live in Portland, Oregon, where Deacon Harold is assigned to Immaculate Heart Catholic Church.
Registration Cost
The $40 early-bird admission cost is available until February 1, 2018. Additionally, all permanent deacons who register by that time will receive $10 off their registration. After February 1, 2018 general registration will be available online for $55 until March 10, 2018. After that point, registration will only be available at the door for $60. As always, the conference is free for priests and religious brothers.
