St. John’s Cathedral will host an informational meeting for all who are interested in earning a Certificate of Catholic Theology through STEP Theology online:
WHEN: Thursday, April 5 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm.
WHERE: Riffle Center Francis Room
WHAT: STEP at the University of Notre Dame began in 1999 as the Satellite Theological Education Program. STEP uses digital technology to offer theological education to pastoral ministers and other adult Catholics across the United States and beyond. STEP is part of Notre Dame’s McGrath Institute for Church Life, which serves the University’s larger mission of teaching, research, and service to society and to the Church.
WHY: A Certificate of Catholic Theology may enable you to: 1) Demonstrate competence in a given theological discipline, and 2) Meet diocesan or national certification standards for the intellectual dimension of faith formation for diaconate or lay ecclesial ministry.
HOW: The STEP program consists of completing a set of required courses and then completing a final assignment that will be reviewed and discussed with you by a member of the STEP staff. The cost of the program is $299.00 (this is in addition to the individual required course fees).
Certificates of Catholic Theology are available for the following areas of study: Doctrine, History, Liturgy, and Scripture. For more information, contact the Parish Office at boisecathedral@gmail.com or 208-342-3511. Or, please visit https://step.nd.edu/certificates-catholic-theology.
