Join us for this beautiful Eucharistic Procession along the Vermilion River!
This special procession, sponsored by the Community of Jesus Crucified will be held in conjunction with the celebration of the Feast of Our Lady of the Assumption, Patroness of the Acadiana.
The celebration will begin with a Mass in French at St. Mary Magdalene Catholic Church in Abbeville. After Mass, the procession with the Blessed Sacrament will then proceed to the boat landing.
A boat carrying the monstrance holding the Blessed Sacrament leaves the boat landing to begin the Fete-Dieu du Vermilion. The procession will make several stops along the way to recite the Rosary and for Benediction. The boat procession will end at the Beaver Park Boat Landing and proceed on foot to the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist for Mass of the Assumption with Bishop Douglas Deshotel.
