Topic: Drink Deeply: How to Feast (and Fast) Like a Saint
Speaker: Brother Jordan Zajac O.P.
Brother Jordan Zajac entered the Order of Preachers in 2013. After growing up in New Bedford, Massachusetts, he attended Providence College, where he first met the Dominican friars. He developed a passion for food and food history in graduate school: he started brewing beer with friends and colleagues at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst, and wrote a dissertation dedicated to feasting in Shakespeare’s plays. He is currently studying for the priesthood at the Dominican House of Studies, Washington, DC, which is the home of “Blackfriars Brewery,” the student brothers’ own home-brewing operation.
