Relics of Padre Pio will be coming to the Cathedral once again this year on Wednesday, April 4 and Thursday, April 5. Padre Pio was a humble Capuchin priest who lives the last 50 years of his life in San Giovanni Rotondo, Italy. He was blessed by God with the stigmata, bearing the wounds of Christ with great suffering for fifty years. Many came to visit Padre Pio for confession, for spiritual counseling, for healing and for strength. He was known to have the gift of bilocationbeing in the two places at one time. Since his death in 1968 and his canonization in 2002, St. Padre Pio has been someone to whom the faithful has come for prayer, intercession and help. Some of his relics will be on display at the Cathedral on April 4 and 5. Relics provide a real, concrete way for the faithful to be able to connect with the saints. They help us to draw close to a holy man of God who gave his life in loving service to God and the Church. He cared deeply for the poor, he built a hospital to care for the sick and suffering, he brought healing and peace to sinners through the Sacrament of Reconciliation and helped all who came to him to draw closer to the loving heart of Christ. The relics are an extraordinary way in which we can connect physically and spiritually with a saint who helped so many people in his life on earth and now from his place in heaven to grow in faith.

**TIMES FOR VENERATION AND MASSES WILL BE ADDED SOON**
