Shroud Encounter is a dramatic experience and in-depth exploration into the mysteries of the Shroud of Turin – an ancient Jewish burial linen imprinted with the image of a bearded, crucified man which completely correlates with scripture as well as first century Jewish burial practices. Could it be an artifact of the crucifixion and resurrection of the historical Jesus? Or just a medieval hoax or work of art? After thousands of hours of scientific analysis, the Shroud remains a profound mystery. In a live presentation, International expert Russ Breault will reveal and examine each clue in a CSI style investigation, leading deeper into the Shroud’s maze of mystery and intrigue. Join us to experience the mystery and take a thought provoking adventure through early church history, ancient art, modern science and medical forensics.
A museum-quality, life-size replica of the Shroud will be available for viewing before and after the live presentation. Doors open at 6:15 pm, following our 5 pm weekend Mass (which is open to all).
Admission is FREE but a ticket is required due to limited seating.
Tickets will be available at Ash Wednesday Masses, and online starting on February 15th.
Childcare is available if requested by February 23rd.
Shroud Encounter is recommended for ages high school and above. A rudimentary understanding of science will be sufficient for comprehending the scientific aspects of the Shroud.
