Join us for the fourth event in the Discipleship Series: The Challenge of Culture.
As Catholic Christians, we find ourselves caught between the rich teachings of our faith and the pervading views of contemporary culture. The promise of happiness through material gain, independent thought, power, and free choice is all around us…but do these truly satisfy the longings of our hearts?
With all the messages that bombard us, how can we share the Good News with people who have no way to hear it? The New Evangelization requires us to meet people where they are, and present timeless Truth in a way that can be understood, especially by those who are far from Christ. To do this, we need to be aware of the pervading attitudes that shape the human conscience.
This presentation is designed to further understanding of:
-The current cultural climate
-How contemporary thought impacts faith, hope, and love
-Why we need to move quickly and effectively to counteract the prevailing views of life and happiness
