Walk for Life is a fundraiser, a memorial, and a show of support to all facing the challenges of an unplanned pregnancy. Our family-friendly walk has a prayer service which culminates with a balloon release to remember the lives lost to abortion. Through this display, we hope to serve as a reminder to our community of our compassion for the unborn, our love for their mothers, and our desire to be a resource and a support for families both before and after birth.
Every walker who collects $25 in pledges will receive a Walk for Life t-shirt.
The Walker who raises the most in pledges will receive a $100 prepaid Visa Card.
The Team who raises the most in pledges will receive a $75 prepaid Visa Card.
Registration will begin at St. Richard Catholic Church at 7:30 a.m. The walk will start at 8:00 a.m. with Fr. John Bohn, Pastor of St. Richard Catholic Church saying an opening prayer. The Hinds County Deputy will give a safety briefing and the walkers will leave headed to the abortion clinic. Once they arrive at the abortion clinic everyone will get water and take part in the prayer service to honor the unborn babies. Balloons will be released and all the walkers who are walking the 4 miles will start the walk back. The walkers who are walking the 2 miles will board the bus and be brought back to St. Richard’s. Upon returning there will be an Awards presentation and a delicious and hardy brunch prepared by the St. Richard Knights of Columbus.
