Come to YCP Omaha’s February Executive Speaker Series! Jim Ricketts will be giving his presentation on Sharing Your Faith Internationally.
Jim Ricketts is President and Chief Operations Officer of Opportunity Education Foundation (http://www.opportunityeducation.org/). The Foundation serves 1,688 schools in 11 developing countries in Africa and Asia with curriculum, technology, educational materials along with teacher development. Since 2006, the Foundation has contributed sixty million dollars of support to make quality education available to children in the poorest of poor areas so they can improve their standard of living.
Prior to Opportunity Education, Jim’s career as Vice President of TD Ameritrade through twenty years with assignments that included acquisition, legal, compliance and brokerage firm management. Jim is a member of the Board of Directors of Automation-X, an industry leader in oil and gas technology products. He serves FINRA, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, as an arbitrator and past founding member of the National Association of Security Dealers (NASD) e-Brokerage Committee. He serves on Nebraska’s Department of Education Council of International Education. He taught Business Law and Real Estate Law as adjunct professor at a Colorado college. Prior to law school, Jim was a Mountain States Zone Manager for a manufacturing firm.
Jim received his Jurist Doctorate from Thomas Jefferson School of Law in San Diego, and undergraduate degree from Wayne State College. He holds Bar Admission in California. Reverend Mr. Ricketts was ordained a permanent Deacon in the Roman Catholic Church Archdiocese of Omaha after a four-year theology program. He serves Jesus Christ in various ministries in the Church. Jim is an Eagle Scout and past Scout Master. Mr. Ricketts was honored with the Louisiana College Trustee’s Distinguished Service Award (2013) and Wayne State College Alumni Achievement Award (2015).
